Tonight after dinner at Perkins ( our meet-in-the-middle spot), Dan and I moved his car to an empty section of the parking lot and made out awhile.  Being middle-aged and all, we — well, never mind what we did.  But after we talked for awhile with the seats reclined back, a spotlight panned across the windows twice.  I told Dan it looked like a police spotlight, and though he thought it unlikely, he looked out and said, “It is a cop!”  He, the officer, came to my side with a flashlight and caught on that we weren’t Bad Guys.  Dan told him we were resting in preparation for a long drive.  It was over in thirty seconds.  But it made my night.
